It's been a week. Both the passage of time and just...mentally. There's a lot of emotion going on, a lot of people still mad on every side. After Biden was called as the next president this past weekend, my mental state hard shifted from the unknown chaos into the chaos I expected.
A question we've been asking one another a lot since the pandemic started is "How are you?" A valid question for a country who spent the last four years being mentally ratfucked by a corrupt administration and a governing body doing nothing to stop it.
Personally, I think whatever it is that gives you any kind of hope or mental wellbeing is perfectly valid.
Happy Biden won? Or just happy Trump lost? That's valid.
Upset at establishment dems promising to do literally nothing to improve the way of life of millions of Americans? That's valid.
Excitedly hoping to watch Trump dragged kicking and screaming from the White House? Hell yeah that's valid.
Screaming at the top of your lungs that BIPOC and activists on the ground did more to oust Trump than any of the racists working at Lincoln Project? That's valid.
Fearful that current moves might mean a coup attempt? You bet that's valid.
The only feeling not valid is that Trump actually won. He didn't. He lost and much like we had to deal with it, conservatives should too. There will be pushback, there might be violence, and if you're scared of what might happen next, that's valid.
At the same time, if you're feeling somewhat hopeful for the future, then feel it away because that's valid.
